In 2015, the Illinois Governor's Mansion in Springfield received a $15 million renovation. The Mansion was reopened to the public in 2018 and can be toured on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

About the event
The Governor’s Mansion is open to scheduled tours on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:00 pm & 3:15 pm. The Mansion is closed for tours on state holidays and during official functions. Reservations are required for all individuals and groups touring the Mansion. To gain entry to the Mansion grounds, all visitors over the age of 18 must present a government-issued photo ID or passport matching the name on the ticket issued. Children under the age of 18 are welcome without an ID or passport when accompanied by an adult. Tours are free of charge and begin at the Jackson Street gate, which is located on the north side of the Mansion between 4th and 5th Streets. Tours must be booked 48 hours in advance and are limited to 6 individuals. Guests should arrive 5-10 minutes prior to their scheduled tour time. The tour length is approximately fifty-five minutes.
